Privacy Policy

The short version Sottosay has no accounts and no developer server. The self-talk you write and its translations are created on your device and are never sent to us. Your practice history stays on your device and — unless you turn it off — syncs only to your own private iCloud.

No account, ever

There is no sign-up, no email, no profile, no login. You open the app and begin.

The words you write

The self-talk you type, and the translations Sottosay produces, are processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Translation framework and on-device speech (AVSpeechSynthesizer). This text is never transmitted to the developer — there is no developer server to receive it.

Your practice history

Your practice records (when you practiced, the mood ratings you give before and after each rep, and your stars and rhythm streak) are stored on your device with Apple's SwiftData.

iCloud sync (optional, on by default)

So your progress follows you across your devices and survives reinstalling the app, Sottosay syncs your practice records through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account. These records go to your iCloud — not to the developer, who cannot see them. You can turn this off under Settings → iCloud sync, and your records will then stay only on the current device.

Reminders

If you enable notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device and may display your current self-talk. They are not sent through any server.

No tracking, no ads, no third parties

Sottosay contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting, and no third-party SDKs. Its only network use is the optional iCloud sync described above and the one-time system download of a language pack the first time you choose a language. You can practice with your phone in airplane mode.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove its data from your device. If you used iCloud sync, you can also remove its iCloud data from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

Children

Because Sottosay collects nothing for the developer, it does not knowingly collect data from children of any age. It is suitable for general audiences.

The source of truth

The App Store privacy label shown for the version you have installed is the authoritative summary of data practices for that build; please refer to it.
